White Pine Christmas Trees
 Of
all needle-type evergreens, pines
seem to show the greatest diversity
of habit, distribution, and
ornamental characteristics. They
are
handsome and ornamental specimens and
valuable for parks, estates and
large properties. They also
make a beautiful sheared hedge. As one of the most beautiful native
pines, a well-grown mature white
pine is without equal among the
firs, spruces and other pines.
In youth, white pines are a
symmetrical pyramid and have a soft,
pleasant appearance. In middle age,
and on old trees, the crown is
composed of several horizontal and
ascending branches with a graceful,
plume-like outline that is very
distinctive. They are light
bluish-green in color and are one
of the fastest growing landscape
pines.
